Kicked Out Of Home And You Find Yourself With A Man With The Expensive Red
Day of 153 The Andie Chronicles
“Don’t get too comfortable, babe.”
James declared as I appeared from my bedroom in striped pyjama pants and my Garfield Oodie.
Despite it being Saturday night, I didn’t feel like going anywhere. I needed my home, the television, my new dining room table and to be away from the chaos. It turns out the chaos was about to explode at my house.
“Why James?”
“GG is coming over for dinner. She’s bringing pasta from Italy One and we’re going to have a meeting.” He looked me up and down. “And I’m sorry, but you can’t be here for this.”
I could sense the pang of guilt in his voice, something I hadn’t heard for a long time. Remorse, some sense of doing something that might be hurting me.
“Why don’t you go to GG’s house? It’s right across the street.”
He shook his head. “No, she’s had the electricity turned off whilst she’s not really living there.”
I pondered what Taylor would think of this development. “And what if I just stayed in my room?”
James cocked his head. “Please, Andie, please?”
“You know this is my house, right? I own this house. And you’re kicking me out? Doesn’t that sound a little wrong to you?”
The fact I had to ask my supposed best friend that question was more wrong than the question itself. Though I knew he could never admit to it being wrong. He wouldn’t get his way if he did that.
“Don’t make me beg, babe.”
An hour later, I was sitting by the fireplace in Taylor’s apartment. I didn’t know where else to go, and I figured he would be home alone considering GG was occupying my home.
As the faux embers cracked on his expansive fireplace, I delighted in my decision when he passed me a glass of wine. It was a beautiful cherry red, aged and delicate.
“What are we drinking?” Taylor held the bottle under his arm as he sat in the adjoining armchair. Producing it, I could see the red scribe clearly; Grange.
“Taylor, this is too much.” I went to hand the glass back to him, but in reality, he had already opened the bottle and couldn’t exactly rebottle it.
“You deserve it. You should move in here, you know.”
I know Taylor wasn’t being serious, or at least I hoped so. “I get more respect when I’m here compared to anywhere else. And the wine is far better here, too.”
Looking across at Taylor Gallo, I couldn’t help but notice how unlike his brother he was. Sure, he had the same good looks and almost as much power and wealth as Douglas, but he didn’t make me feel inferior the way my ex did.
He didn’t put me on edge, or make me feel like I had to constantly prove myself as something I wasn’t.
I was envious of GG, I had to admit. She had the foresight to pick a man who was a good guy, in all the right places.
Taylor winked at me. “Shall we order some dinner?”
