James: She’s spiralling.
GG: Out of control. I’m so worried about her. She can’t seem to keep it together with D. I think she needs help.
James: Yeah, totally agree. Not the problem I have though. Need to find a solution with the business. If she’s not on her A-game, she’s out.
Sophia: Can we just kick her out like that? She’s really good at drawing and design. Don’t we need her?
GG: I’ve spoken with Taylor about this and he thinks we should talk to Douglas. He’s the one looking for a fashion label to add to his portfolio. It could solve all our problems.
James: Omg how did I not think about asking Douglas? Such a good idea. Let’s set up a meeting.
James: I think this is the right deal for us. You guys can keep your money and Highway will get the start it deserves. It’s win-win babes.
Sophia: I’ll go along with whatever you two want to do.
GG: It’s simply fantastic. We would be fools not to take it. James, do you think you can handle Andie in this?
James: Def can handle her. If we all go along with it, then she can’t really say no. She’s best to be backed into a corner if you know what I mean. I mean it’s not rocket science — she’s not going to want to work with him. But it’s better than what’s going on right now.
Sophia: Is she really that bad?
James: There have been ZERO ideas or input since she came up with the name. This deal is a lifeline for her. She should be so lucky we’re including her. If we weren’t best friends, she would be out on her ass so fast.
Sophia: And this won’t make it awkward for the two of you at home?
James: I’m taking her LV tomorrow. Once she tastes the life of someone with money, she’s not going to object. And if she does, she’s more stupid than I give her credit for.
GG: I don't want this to be awkward either. But I didn’t get to where I am now, in the marketing world, without ruffling a few feathers. All in the name of business, of course. If she’s a business woman she will take it on the chin. If she doesn’t, I will pull her into line.
Sophia: Ok. If you both think it’s the right thing to do.
Sophia: Just a heads up, Andie knows about the billboard. She found out a couple of weeks ago. FYI.
James: The weirdest thing just happened in the car park. Andie told Douglas she was in, no arguments, and thanked him. Yes, she fucking THANKED him. Ded. Seriously deceased right now.
GG: Between you and me, I just told Andie about the denim policy in the office. I told her people had been talking but didn’t say we had a meeting about it or anything Douglas said. Also, I think we need to find somewhere else to have meetings without her. She’s all over the office.
Sophia: James, you have to tell her about the designs. You’re the Creative Director, not me.
James: I can’t be nice about it. What was she thinking? Pushing unisex lines after Douglas said no. She’s making us look like idiots. (But don’t tell Douglas this — they are really good.)
GG: Do you need me to sit her down and have another chat about it?
Andie (me): I don’t think you weren’t meant to include me in this.
